Throughout our IBL unit we demonstrated Collaboration and Subsidiarity. From our first lesson where we collaborated on our graffiti wall with all our ideas about which places are the best to visit in our town.

We demonstrated subsidiarity in the creation of our website. Throughout our website we explain how the places we have chosen to include are special and connected to us and our families in many ways.

Teaching Value- Creativity
For our final assessment piece, the students created a persuasive text to persuade people to visit our town.

We also created our own maps of Proserpine, specific to the places we felt were the best to visit.

Teaching Value- Inclusive Communities.
The great thing about this unit is that we were looking at our local community and what is so wonderful about it. Therefore a number of the activities in the unit showed the value of inclusive communities. The students undertook an activity where they had to interview someone in the community about their favourite place in town and why it was so special to them. We were able to include a wide variety of people in the community in the results of our interview questions. This was a great way to show the students that everyone in our community has an opinion and can be included in our learning.

Relevant and powerful examples of the above Learning Framework values, Julie. Well done! (BTW, I couldn't get any sound on the above film clip.)
